4. Sukanya-Samriddhi-Yojana (SSY)
Sukanya Samriddhi Account is a Government of India backed saving scheme targeted at the parents of girl children. The scheme encourages parents to build a fund for the future education and marriage expenses for their female child.
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is a government-backed savings scheme as part of the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana” for the benefit of the girl child. It can be opened by the parents of a girl child below the age of 10. Parents can open up to two such accounts for girls (they cannot open a third/fourth account etc, if they have more than two girls). These accounts have tenure of 21 years or until the girl child marries after the age of 18.
5. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao
Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao is a campaign, of the Government of India that aims to generate awareness and improve the efficiency, of welfare services intended for girls in India. The scheme was launched with an initial funding of ₹100 crore. This program was launched in January 2015. The main focus of this program was to educate girl child.
6. Smart City
A smart city, is an urban area that uses different types of electronic, Internet of things sensors to collect data and then use these data to manage assets and resources efficiently, smart city project will revamp 98 cities of the country. PM Modi has already allocated Rs 48,000 crore for the smart city project.
Atal Pension Yojana is a government-backed pension scheme in India targeted at the unorganised sector. It was mentioned in the 2015, Budget speech by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on 9 May in Kolkata. Atal Pension Yojana, scheme will provide pension to senior citizens once they are 60 years, old. The scheme is very important, because life insurance companies do not focus on unorganized sectors.
8. Pradhan-Mantri-Suraksha-Bima Yojana
Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, (PMSBY) is one of three social security schemes, that the government had announced in the 2015 Budget. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, is a government-backed accident insurance scheme in India. It was originally mentioned in the 2015, Budget speech by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in February 2015. It was formally launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on 8 May in Kolkata.
9. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana
Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana is a government-backed Life insurance scheme in India. It was originally mentioned in the 2015 Budget speech by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in February 2015. It was formally launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 9 May in Kolkata.
According, to this scheme if you pay a premium of just Rs 330 per year, then you will receive a life insurance of worth Rs 2 lacs in the end.
10. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, is an initiative by Government of India, in which affordable housing will be provided to the urban poor with a target of building 20 million, affordable houses by 31 March 2022. Around 305 cities, were identified by the government for the implementation of this scheme.
11. Gold Monetization Scheme
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), has made changes with the Gold Monetisation Scheme (GMS), to allow charitable institutions, central government. Gold Monetization scheme, was launched by PM Modi on November 5, ‘ 2015.
12. One Rank One Pension Scheme
One rank one pension scheme has a long story and it can be told here. One Rank One Pension (OROP), or “same pension, for same rank, for same length of service, irrespective of the date of retirement”, is a longstanding demand of the Indian armed forces and veterans.
“In simple terms, OROP implies that uniform pension, be paid to the Armed Forces personnel retiring in the same rank, with the same length of service, regardless of their date of retirement. Future enhancements in the rates of pension, would be automatically passed on to the past pensioners.
This implies bridging the gap between the rate of pension, of current and past pensioners at periodic intervals,” said Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar while making the announcement.
13. Modi government announces scholarships for 5 crore minority students in next 5 years.
PM Narendra Modi-led NDA government has announced scholarships for five crore students from minority communities, including 50 per cent girls, in the next five years. Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday told media that the scholarships will be provided for pre-matric, post-matric, and professional and technical course studies.
To ensure socio-economic-educational empowerment of minorities especially girls through ‘3Es- Education, Employment and Empowerment’, various scholarships including pre-matric, post-matric, merit-cum-means etc will be provided to five crore students in next 5 years,” Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.
